We have put together some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to provide you with some information before signing up to our classes.
Hyperdance classes have up to 20 students, however classes are never overloaded as we pride ourselves on giving individual attention to students if needed. Our studio at Level 2, 167 Gouger St (upstairs next to Kpub restaurant) can comfortably handle our class sizes.
Anything comfortable that you can stretch and move around in, such as a tracksuit or active wear. It is advisable to wear your hair back and no dangly earrings or jewellery is permitted.
For Jazz, Combo, Fusion and Hip Hop classes, sneakers without too much grip are recommended.
For Lyrical/Contemporary classes, bare feet, ballet shoes or socks are recommended.
For Heels classes, heels which are low-medium height with a fairly wide heel are recommended. A shoe with a strap or an ankle boot is a good idea. No stillettos.
For Tap classes, tap shoes are not necessary straight away, low heeled shoes with a strap are recommended.
Yes. The choreography and movements done in the classes are suitable for both sexes.
Our classes are all adult classes for age 16 and over.
Our classes are designed to progress throughout the year and students generally stay in the same level for a minimum of one year. However, students may be invited to move up a level at the discretion of the teacher. New students can also join a class at any time of the year, up until Term 3 when we start Showcase choreography.
